About Merlin

Merlin Garage Door Openers (manufactured by Chamberlain Group) is one of Australia's most installed opener brands. The current line is built around the MyQ smartphone ecosystem and covers everything from light residential sectional drives through to heavy-duty commercial roller shutter operators. Older Merlin units — Power Drive, Tiltmaster, Commander — are still common across the Darling Downs and we still stock and service them.

Merlin repairs and parts

Common Merlin repairs we attend weekly: failed logic boards after a power surge, dead capacitors, MyQ wifi hubs dropping off the network, worn drive belts and gears, stripped plastic cogs on older Tiltmaster heads and broken trolley assemblies. Genuine Merlin parts on the truck for every current model and most of the older ones. Standard $185 service callout, most repairs completed inside the first visit.

Merlin opener supply and fit pricing — MyQ MR655 from $695, QuietDrive from $795, SilentDrive Elite from $895, Tiltmaster MT60 from $795. Roller-Pro EVO from $795 supplied and fitted. Genuine remotes from $65, MyQ wifi hub from $145. All pricing includes programming of up to four remotes, wall console fit and a full operational hand-over.

Installation — what to expect

A new Merlin opener install on an existing door takes 90 minutes to 2 hours. We remove the old opener, mount the new rail and head, programme the safety beams, set the open/close limits and force settings to the door weight, pair the remotes and wall console, and (for MyQ models) walk you through downloading the MyQ app and pairing the wifi hub. For a brand-new door plus Merlin opener install, allow a half day on a single and most of a day on a double.

Servicing schedule

Merlin recommends an annual opener service. Our $185 service covers belt/chain tension and lubrication, gear and trolley inspection, capacitor health check, limit-switch and travel-memory verification, safety beam alignment, MyQ wifi-hub re-pair if needed, remote test and a written service report. Catches the failure-mode issues (stripped cogs, dying capacitors, MyQ drift) before they leave you stranded.

Warranty cover

Current Merlin openers carry a manufacturer warranty of 24–60 months depending on model (the SilentDrive Elite carries the longest residential cover). We add a lifetime workmanship warranty on every Merlin install we touch. Warranty claims handled direct with Chamberlain Group on your behalf — we diagnose, replace and report.
